Job Summary

A Field Service Engineer provides onsite customer support through the performance of installations, upgrades, repairs, and preventative maintenance of complex lithography equipment and systems. You troubleshoots problems either to solve problems directly or refer more serious machine problems to advanced technical support resources. You also serve as the customer interface and instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the systems.

Job Responsibilities

• Understands the basic theory of electrical, optical and mechanical systems
• Reads and uses schematics, mechanical diagrams, block diagrams, part lists and other technical materials and resources
• Uses common diagnostic equipment (oscilloscope, digital volt meter, etc)
• Reads and interprets data from diagnostic programs
• Follows logical order to solve problems
• Shows ownership and follow-up for work performed
• Serves as the customer interface/communication link for answering questions and providing updates and in some cases may be the main customer representative
• Provides clear verbal and written communications so correct actions can be taken based on information being conveyed
• Effectively communicates issues to Technical Support
• Effectively communicates collected data
• Develops customer confidence in job performance through effective communication and understanding of how the equipment works
• Works effectively with others and operates as a team player
• Responds efficiently to requests for assistance
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite


• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering Technology

• Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Technology

• Have at least 2 - 4 years related experience in electro-mechanical troubleshooting or equivalent.
